Medicine Walk is a powerful book by Indigenous Canadian Author Richard Wagamese. It takes place in British Columbia and follows a 16-year-old boy named Franklin Starlight as he embarks on a journey to fulfill his dying father’s wish to be buried the “warrior way.” Along their journey, Frank slowly learns more about his identity and the traumas his father has faced in his past that have separated him from his son. Medicine Walk is a story of seeking belonging and understanding in the face of loss and generational pain.
